As fuel is, once opened, nitromethane evaporates easily, alcohol and then the "base." It's cheaper in the long run to buy only fresh fuel. If more than 6 months old already open, always buy new fuel. Buy quart size helps eliminate this problem and the size of rooms do not require an extra "hazardous material" of fees. If the fuel is less than 6 months old and kept tightly closed, sometimes it can be mixed with fresh fuel. (About 1 / 2 quarts of age 10%, mixed with 1 20% new rooms usually give 1-1/2 quarts approximately 12%, with a slightly higher oil content.) Hope this helps.
